May 29, 2018
CCEE-SECAM Seminar What globalization means for the Church and Cultures in Africa and Europe Lisbon-Fatima, Portugal, 12-15 April 2018
Dear Participants of the CCEE-SECAM Seminar
Greetings from St. Gallen and Accra!
We have the pleasure to send you today some information concerning last meeting CCEE and SECAM organized together in Fatima from12 to 15 of April 2018.
The main argument addressed during the meeting was the globalization and its meaning for cultures and for the Church in Africa and Europe. The bishops who took part in the meeting, coming from both continents, focused on the impact of globalization on the lives of young people, on the phenomenon of migration and on ideological debate. In the end it was discussed a common message that you can find in several languages attached here.
We hope that for all participants this has been a fruitful meeting.
Next meeting of European and African bishops will be in Africa hopefully in 2020.
We wish you all a great Easter time.
Mgr Duarte da Cunha, CCEE General Secretary Fr. Joseph Komakoma, SECAM General Secretary
