IMBISA on the way to Mozambique
Catholic Bishops of Southern Africa will gather in Mozambique for the IMBISA Plenary Assembly scheduled for November 12-17, 2019, in the city of Maputo, Mozambique
The prelates of Angola, Eswatini, Namibia, South Africa, Botswana, Lesotho, Zimbabwe, and Sao Tome will join the local bishops (Mozambique) to deliberate on leadership, safeguarding of children and care for our common home: the earth, the fruits of which are for the entire region of IMBISA.
The local Catholic community throughout the country has already begun preparations to host the event. Mobilization for the national mass is being performed by the choir that animated the liturgy of the mass with Pope Francis at the Zempeto stadium.
IMBISA Bishops meet every three years. The last plenary was held in Maseru; Lesotho under the theme: ‘Empowering the Laity for effective engagement in socio-political and environmental issues: Laudato Si as point of reference’
